Turnitin

Turnitin

Turnitin provides a reliable plagiarism detection service that detects and compares inappropriate citations or potential plagiarism in submitted papers. Turnitin can be accessed through a password-based login.

Turnitin accounts:

1. Faculty Accounts – For faculty members who need to open a Turnitin account, please send your university email address and name to Ms. Zhang in the library (zhangyx@sustech.edu.cn). Once opened, an automatic email will be sent by Turnitin containing an activation link.

2. Student Accounts - Faculty members will create classes in Turnitin and open student accounts for their students who need to check their papers.

3. Existing Accounts - Faculty members and students who have previously opened a Turnitin account can continue to use the account. However, patrons who originally registered with a different email domain should update their email to (sustech.edu.cn) in the account settings.

Tips to use Turnitin:

1. Turnitin is mainly used to compare English articles in the repository. We do not suggest using Turnitin to detect Chinese articles.

2. When adding paper, please change the setting by submitting paper to "no repository" to avoid your paper entering the repository.

3. If your submitted article enters the repository, please select this record and click "Request permanent deletion", then contact Grace Zhang(zhangyx@sustech.edu.cn) to delete it in Turnitin, since users can not delete the record themselves.
